The selection of electrical parameters is a key point in the process of water cutting, which mainly includes the determination of processing current, voltage, pulse width, duty cycle and other parameters.
(1) Too large water cutting current is easy to burn off the electrode wire, so it is more suitable to control the processing current at 3-4A, and the peak pulse current should be between 20-25a, so as to obtain ideal processing accuracy and surface roughness.
(2) When the voltage is too small, the machining efficiency is low. In order to ensure the machining efficiency, the voltage should be controlled between 100-130 v.
(3) Pulse width and duty cycle have a great influence on machining stability. If the pulse width is too large and the duty cycle is too small, the processing stability will be poor. On the contrary, small pulse width and large duty cycle will reduce the machining efficiency. Considering comprehensively, when the workpiece with large thickness is cut by water, the pulse width should be 48 ~ 64us, and the duty cycle should be 1:6 ~ 1.9, which is more appropriate.
